Tobi Amusan Named Nigeria’s Flag-bearer for Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony

World record holder Tobi Amusan has been chosen as Nigeria’s flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, marking a historic moment for Nigerian athletics. This appointment makes Amusan the first track and field athlete in two decades to receive this honor, following Mary Onyali at the Athens 2004 Games.

The announcement was made public through a tweet by Making of Champions on the social media platform X on Tuesday. Amusan, renowned for her exceptional performances in the 100m hurdles, will lead the Nigerian contingent during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony.
