Demonstrations Erupt in Washington D.C. During Netanyahu’s Visit

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Demonstrations erupted in the nation’s capital as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived for a joint meeting with Congress. The protests, led by the Palestinian Youth Movement, took a chaotic turn at the Watergate Hotel on the night of his arrival.

Protesters from the Palestinian Youth Movement claimed responsibility for the disruptions at the Watergate Hotel, where Netanyahu and his entourage were staying. “Palestine protesters manufactured chaos at the Watergate Hotel last night so that Netanyahu, Israeli Mossad agents, and the Secret Service had no peace as they continue to terrorize our people,” a spokesperson said.

The protests have sparked a wave of demonstrations throughout Washington D.C., prompting heightened security measures around the White House, where Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with President Biden. Security fencing has been erected, and increased law enforcement presence is noticeable.

The demonstrations include accusations of war crimes in Gaza against Netanyahu, with protesters calling for his arrest. This latest demonstration adds to the ongoing tension surrounding Netanyahu’s visit and his policies in the Middle East.

Footage from the Watergate Hotel shows demonstrators making their presence felt in hotel hallways and common areas, adding to the disruption. The events have drawn significant media attention and underscore the high emotions and political stakes of Netanyahu’s visit to the United States.
