Devastating Footage Shows Aftermath of Ukraine’s Deadly Strike on Russian Warplane and Ammunition Depot

Newly released footage reveals the extensive damage caused by a Ukrainian fireball strike on a Russian warplane and ammunition depot at the Morozovsk military airfield in the Rostov region. The strike, which took place in the early hours of August 3, left the mangled remains of a £40 million Su-34 fighter jet among the wreckage.

The video and images of the aftermath have only just surfaced, providing a closer look at the devastation inflicted by the attack. At the time of the incident, Russian authorities reported that the region had been targeted by 55 kamikaze drones, with approximately 18 of them successfully hitting their intended targets.

One of the most significant outcomes of the strike was the explosion of an ammunition-laden warehouse, dealing a severe blow to Russia’s military capabilities. The explosion destroyed a large quantity of military ordnance, including FAB 100 to 500 aerial bombs, KAB-500 guided aerial bombs, and rare KAB-1500 bombs. R-73 air-to-air missiles also exploded in the blast.

Despite the destruction, Russian officials stated that “most of the drones were destroyed, and there were no casualties” among the personnel stationed at the airfield.

The strike targeted Russia’s 559th Guards Bomber Guards Regiment, military unit 75392, which is based at the Morozovsk airfield. This regiment operates Su-24, Su-24M, and Su-34 bombers, which were stationed at the site.

The footage shows a bright orange fireball lighting up the sky as plumes of smoke filled the air. The intense sounds of the explosion were heard for miles, underscoring the power of the strike and its impact on Russia’s military assets.
