The Spanish side, already guaranteed top spot before kickoff, opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when Yeremy Pino pounced on a rebound after Pedri’s saved penalty. Switzerland, facing relegation, equalized through Joel Monteiro in the 63rd minute before Bryan Gil restored Spain’s lead five minutes later.
The Swiss appeared to have salvaged a point when Andi Zeqiri converted a penalty with five minutes remaining, but Zaragoza’s late spot kick ensured Spain finished the group stage with 16 points from six matches.
Switzerland ends the campaign at the bottom of Group A4 with just two points, having failed to win any of their six matches. Denmark secured second place and a quarter-final spot with eight points following a goalless draw against Serbia.
