Bishop T.D. Jakes ‘Stable’ After Health Incident During Dallas Church Service

Date:

Bishop T.D. Jakes, the prominent Christian pastor and motivational speaker, is in stable condition after experiencing what church officials described as a “slight health incident” during Sunday’s service at The Potter’s House of Dallas.

The 67-year-old religious leader was seen on the church’s livestream pausing during his sermon and appearing to convulse after wiping his head with a cloth and telling his audience that preaching is “getting back more than you gave.” Medical assistance arrived immediately as concerned staff members gathered around Jakes on stage before the broadcast feed was cut.

“Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals,” The Potter’s House stated on social media following the incident, which occurred after he delivered what the church called a “powerful hour-long message.” The statement expressed gratitude for “the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.”

The health scare occurred during a 9 a.m. service that had been promoted as an “opportunity to soak up the warmth of family, feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, and receive a life-changing Word.” Jakes had earlier encouraged attendance both online and in-person through his personal social media, writing he was “ready to share what God gave me with YOU.”

Jakes founded The Potter’s House, a non-denominational, multicultural church, in 1996. The organization has grown to 30,000 members and operates as a non-profit with its main campus in southern Dallas. Followers have flooded social media with messages of support and requests for updates on the bishop’s condition.
