Amber Heard Embarks on New Chapter: Second Child on the Way

Date:

Amber Heard, the acclaimed Aquaman actress, is expecting her second child, as confirmed by her spokesperson to People magazine.

“It is still quite early in the pregnancy, so you will appreciate that we do not want to go into much detail at this stage,” the representative shared. “Suffice to say that Amber is delighted both for herself and her daughter, Oonagh Paige.”

Heard welcomed her first child, Oonagh Paige, via surrogate in April 2021. In an Instagram announcement, she reflected on her decision to have a child independently, writing, “Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.”

She expressed a desire to normalize single motherhood and emphasized that “a ring isn’t necessary to have a crib.”

Over the years, Heard has shared glimpses of her life with Oonagh on social media, offering updates about her journey as a mother.

In recent years, Heard has retreated to a quieter lifestyle following her public legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp. The pair, who were married from 2015 to 2017, became embroiled in a highly publicized defamation trial in 2022. Depp had sued Heard for $50 million, claiming her 2018 Washington Post op-ed implied he was a domestic abuser, despite not naming him directly.

After a six-week trial, the jury ruled in favor of Depp on all three counts, awarding him $15 million in damages. Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages for a countersuit claim.

Following the trial, Heard spoke with Today’s Savannah Guthrie, addressing how she might discuss the case with her daughter in the future. “I think no matter what, it will mean something,” she said, adding, “I did the right thing. I did everything I could to stand up for myself and the truth.”

Heard has since shifted her focus to motherhood. “I get to be a mom, like, full-time,” she shared when discussing her plans.

To embrace her new chapter, Heard sold her California home and relocated to Madrid, Spain, where she has adopted a more private lifestyle.
