A four-year-old boy died Friday after being hit by a bus in Tipton, West Midlands, prompting a police investigation into the tragic collision.
The incident occurred shortly before 4:55 p.m. on High Street in Tipton, Sandwell. “The boy was found with serious injuries and heartbreakingly nothing could be done to save him,” West Midlands Police said in a statement.
Authorities confirmed the bus driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police are appealing to the public for dash cam footage that could help determine the circumstances of the collision.
“Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time and we’ll be doing all we can to support them,” the police statement added. “We know how very sad this will be for everyone.”
