NYC Robbery Crew Targets Nearly 50 Stores, Steals ATMs and Thousands in Cash: NYPD

Date:

A robbery spree has swept across New York City, with a trio of thieves targeting 49 businesses over three months and making off with ATMs and tens of thousands of dollars, according to the NYPD. The incidents occurred between September 19 and December 26, spanning Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. Police revealed that the suspects used stolen vehicles for their heists, looting ATMs and other items from various stores before fleeing the scenes.

During two September robberies, the crew reportedly took nearly $40,000 in cash from ATMs. While a full tally of the stolen amount has not been disclosed, the thefts highlight the organized and methodical nature of the operation. Surveillance footage from December 23 captured two suspects removing wires from an ATM inside a grocery store at 75-10 31st Avenue in Jackson Heights, Queens, around 1:20 a.m., shedding light on their tactics.

The NYPD has called on the public for assistance in identifying the suspects involved in these crimes. So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted online at the Crime Stoppers website or via the NYPD’s X account @NYPDTips.
