Trump Ends Inaugural Speech as 47th President, Says “The Future is Ours”

Date:

Donald Trump delivered a powerful speech as the 47th President of the United States, declaring that “the future is ours” and promising a “golden age” for the nation. Acknowledging his political comeback, Trump told the crowd, “The American people have spoken,” and stressed that nothing is impossible in America. “I stand before you as proof that you should never believe something is impossible to do. In America, doing the impossible is what we do best,” he said.

He concluded his speech with a firm declaration that America would not be intimidated or conquered. “We will not fail. From this day on, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign, and independent nation,” Trump stated. “The future is ours, and our golden age has just begun.”

Trump also highlighted his vision for America’s future, saying U.S. astronauts would reach Mars, and the country would pursue “new heights of victory and success.” He spoke of expanding the nation’s wealth, territory, and influence, promising that the U.S. would “carry its flag into new horizons.” “We will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, to plant the stars and stripes on planet Mars,” he added.

In a controversial moment, Trump repeated false claims about China’s involvement with the Panama Canal, saying, “China is operating it,” and vowing, “We didn’t give it to China. We’re taking it back.” His remarks drew applause from his supporters, while President Biden and Vice President Harris remained expressionless in the crowd.

Trump also addressed foreign policy, stating he would be a “peacemaker and unifier” in the Middle East. He celebrated the return of three Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, receiving a standing ovation from Biden and Harris. Trump also announced plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” and restore the name “William McKinley” to Mount McKinley, calling it “where it should be and belongs.”
