Musk Slams Trump Defense of Bondi Over Epstein Case: ‘Just Release the Files as Promised’

Date:

WASHINGTON (BN24) — Elon Musk on Saturday sharply criticized President Donald Trump for defending Attorney General Pam Bondi amid mounting questions over how the administration has handled documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The tech billionaire took aim at Trump in a series of posts on X, responding to Trump’s statements that urged supporters to stop focusing on Epstein and to stand behind Bondi.

“Seriously,” Musk wrote in reply to a screenshot of Trump’s remarks that called Epstein “a guy who never dies.” “He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein.”

“Just release the files as promised,” Musk added, referencing Trump’s repeated pledges on the campaign trail to declassify all government records related to Epstein’s operations and connections.

Musk followed up minutes later, arguing that the president’s dismissive tone underscored the seriousness of the case and the failure of authorities to hold any prominent figures accountable.

“This is a very big deal,” Musk posted. “What the hell kind of system are we living in if thousands of kids were abused, the government has videos of the abusers and yet none of the abusers are even facing charges!?”

Earlier Saturday, Trump posted a lengthy defense on Truth Social praising Bondi’s work as attorney general after supporters in the MAGA movement attacked her credibility. The backlash erupted after the Justice Department released a memo last week stating Epstein did not compile a “client list” to extort powerful associates and reiterating there was no evidence of foul play in his 2019 death, which was ruled a suicide.

Segments of Trump’s base have expressed fury, pointing out that Bondi had previously implied she possessed a list of high-profile names connected to Epstein.

Trump dismissed the outrage in his post, instead blaming political enemies, including former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, for manufacturing the controversy.

“LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!” Trump wrote, insisting his administration was “perfect” and describing Epstein as a distraction engineered by “losers and criminals of the Biden Administration.”

“For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again,” Trump wrote. “Why are we giving publicity to Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration, who conned the World with the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax… They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands.”

Trump also questioned why, if Epstein files contained damaging evidence, the records had not been used by Democrats or law enforcement before now.

“Why didn’t these Radical Left Lunatics release the Epstein Files? If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?” he wrote, adding that critics are still “obsessed” with unreleased government records about the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.
