Britney Spears Says She Suffered Severe Nerve Damage and Ongoing Trauma from Conservatorship

Britney Spears opened up about her struggles with severe nerve damage that impacts her ability to think, sharing her experiences with her 42.2 million Instagram followers on Wednesday. The 42-year-old pop star reflected on the trauma she endured during her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in November 2021.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Spears revealed that many people are unaware of what her body went through during the conservatorship. “I’m not here to be a victim, I’m here to express that even though I did a book about my experiences, the trauma is still there and probably will always be,” she wrote.

Spears continued, explaining the depth of her trauma: “It’s extremely deep and to my knowledge, all I can do is do the best I can and know it’s okay to be upset some days or not be okay and that’s something I don’t feel like the world has allowed me to do!!!!”

She also touched on the difficulty of forgiving her parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, whom she accuses of causing “serious nerve damage” to the right side of her body. “I have to be the bigger person and forgive my own parents… but that’s extremely hard!!!” she concluded. “I will do my best to let it go and not let others down by my anger!!!”

Later in the day, Spears shared a video on Instagram of herself wearing a white minidress with a peekaboo cutout and cowboy boots, dancing in her living room.

Spears first spoke about her nerve damage in 2022, attributing it to her time in a medical facility where she was placed against her will in 2019. She mentioned that there is no cure for her pain, but dancing helps alleviate some of her symptoms. “It’s weird I don’t feel the nerve damage when I dance,” she explained. “Maybe that’s my inner child’s mind letting go and surrendering.”

Spears described the nerve damage as causing parts of her body to go numb due to lack of oxygen to the brain. She detailed waking up several times a week with numb hands and experiencing “pins and needles” sensations on the right side of her body, which also affects her neck and temple.

Despite the physical and mental trauma, Spears shared that her health issues have improved recently. However, concerns about her well-being have surfaced again. According to multiple sources, Spears is reportedly not taking her mental health medication and is allegedly drinking and taking other drugs. These sources also claim that her boyfriend, Paul Soliz, who has a criminal record, is heavily influencing her life.

Spears’ loved ones are worried about her mental health, with some fearing she may need to be placed under another conservatorship. Insiders have expressed concerns that she is “in danger of hurting herself or others” and that it is sometimes impossible to communicate with her due to her erratic behavior.
