Woman Taking Selfie Crushed to Death by Train

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 29-year-old woman lost her life while attempting to take a selfie near a railway track in Hidalgo, Mexico. The tragedy occurred as the CPKC’s Final Spike Steam Tour train, a popular attraction for locals, was passing through the area at full speed.

Horrifying footage of the incident has been circulating, showing the woman approaching the tracks to capture a photo as the train approached, its horn blasting to alert bystanders. Despite the warning, the woman did not move far enough away from the tracks, and she was struck directly in the head by the train.

Witnesses at the scene rushed to the woman’s aid immediately after she fell forward, unconscious from the impact. However, the severity of her injuries proved fatal, and first responders who arrived at the scene pronounced her dead. Reports indicate that the woman’s family was present with her at the train track in Hidalgo when the tragedy occurred.

CPKC has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. In a statement, the company expressed their deep sadness and condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones. They also issued a reminder to the public about the importance of railway safety, stating, “For their own safety and that of the crews, all spectators looking at any train must always remain at least 10 meters back from the train and the tracks. Spectators must never stand on railway tracks, try to board rail equipment or climb on rail infrastructure.”

The company further emphasized the need for caution around tracks and trains, urging individuals to prioritize their safety in such situations.

This tragic event serves as a somber reminder of the dangers associated with attempting to take photos or selfies in close proximity to moving trains and railway tracks. It is crucial for individuals to exercise extreme caution and adhere to safety guidelines when near such areas to prevent similar heartbreaking incidents from occurring in the future.

As the investigation into the woman’s death continues, the incident has sparked discussions about the need for increased awareness and education regarding railway safety, particularly in areas where trains are a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike.
