London (BN24) – Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of promising Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in a deal valued at an initial £13 million (€15 million), with the total fee potentially increasing through performance-related add-ons.
The 21-year-old center-back has penned a five-year contract with the North London club, with an option to extend for an additional year. Following a successful medical in London, Mosquera has already joined up with Mikel Arteta’s squad in Singapore for preseason training.
Speaking after the move was finalized, Mosquera expressed his excitement at joining the Premier League side. “There’s been a lot of hard work behind all of this,” he said. “It’s an opportunity that came up and I couldn’t let it pass me by.
