By Pop icon Lady Gaga has taken to TikTok to directly address and deny the recent rumors suggesting that she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Michael Polansky. The speculation began over the weekend after the 38-year-old singer attended her sister Natali Germanotta’s wedding in Maine.
In a brief video posted on Tuesday, Gaga, wearing a nude wig cap and bold black eyeliner, lip-synced a viral TikTok audio while getting her hair and makeup done. She captioned the post, “not pregnant – just down bad cryin at the gym,” partially quoting lyrics from pop rival Taylor Swift’s song “Down Bad.” Gaga also encouraged her 9.3 million followers to “register to vote.”
Fans had gone into overdrive on Monday when images obtained by The Sun showed the Poker Face performer at her sister’s wedding, accompanied by her boyfriend, entrepreneur Michael Polansky, 46. Gaga looked stunning in a tight-fitting little black dress with an off-shoulder style, matching pumps, and a string of pearls. Some fans even speculated that the couple might have taken the next step in their relationship, as Gaga was seen wearing a massive diamond on her ring finger.
However, Gaga’s TikTok video has put an end to the pregnancy rumors. The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer has been dating Polansky for over four years, and in March 2021, it was reported that their romance was getting serious, with Gaga expressing her desire to start a family with him.
The superstar has previously opened up about her desire to become a mother. In her May 2020 cover story with InStyle, Gaga admitted that she is “very excited to have kids” and looks forward to being a mom. She marveled at the incredible ability to hold a human inside and grow it, emphasizing the responsibility to keep the child alive once born.
Prior to her relationship with Polansky, Gaga was engaged twice before, first to Taylor Kinney and then to her talent manager, Christian Carino. The last time she was spotted in public with Polansky was in April in Malibu, where she bundled up in an oversize sweatshirt, concealing her left hand amid engagement rumors.
Gaga recently wrapped up filming for her upcoming movie “Joker: Folie à Deux” and is currently working on a new album. She will soon be kicking off her eight-date Las Vegas jazz and piano residency at Park MGM.
