Liverpool Cruise to 3-0 Victory Over Manchester United at Old Trafford

Liverpool secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Luis Diaz netting twice and Mohamed Salah adding a third to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.

The match began with high intensity from both sides, but it was Liverpool who struck first. Ryan Gravenberch capitalized on a Casemiro error, setting up Diaz to head home from Salah’s cross. Diaz doubled the lead shortly after, again benefiting from Casemiro’s mistake to finish off another Salah assist.

United’s struggles continued in the second half, with Salah curling in Liverpool’s third goal after Alexis Mac Allister dispossessed Kobbie Mainoo. The goal showcased Liverpool’s dominance and United’s defensive frailties.

Despite some chances, including a close-range header from striker Zirzkee that was saved by Alisson, United failed to mount a significant comeback. The defeat marks their second consecutive Premier League loss, while Liverpool maintain their 100% record, matching reigning champions Manchester City’s form.

Liverpool’s victory was nearly more emphatic, with an early goal disallowed due to Salah being offside in the build-up. The Reds’ midfield, particularly Gravenberch and Szoboszlai, controlled the game, exploiting United’s errors.

United manager Erik ten Hag made changes at halftime, introducing 20-year-old Toby Collyer for his Premier League debut in place of the struggling Casemiro. However, these adjustments failed to turn the tide of the match.

This result solidifies Liverpool’s position as title contenders and raises questions about Manchester United’s form and defensive capabilities. As the Premier League season progresses, both teams’ performances in this high-profile clash will likely have significant implications for their respective campaigns.
