By A 33-year-old man’s reaction to his wife’s surprise lunch delivery at his new workplace has sparked online debate about workplace dynamics and marital expectations.
The man, who shared his story anonymously on social media platform Reddit, said he “blew up” at his wife for bringing his favorite meal to his office, claiming her gesture embarrassed him in front of his new colleagues.
“I was upset she brought it to my workplace,” the man wrote, explaining that his co-workers, whom he described as “vicious” and “brutally honest,” began teasing him about the incident.
One colleague reportedly made jokes referring to the man’s wife as his “mommy,” asking if she would “change his diaper” next.
The man confronted his wife, accusing her of “ruining the respect and prestige” he had with his co-workers. His wife defended her actions, stating she was simply trying to do something nice for him.
