Truck Crash at Dominican Republic Bar Leaves 11 Dead, Over 30 Injured

A devastating incident in the Dominican Republic has left at least 11 people dead and more than 30 injured after a truck crashed into a bar, local authorities reported on Sunday.

Juan Salas, the director of civil defense, told The Associated Press that the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Azua, a southern community located west of the capital, Santo Domingo.

The exact cause of the crash remains unclear, with Salas stating that authorities are currently reviewing camera footage from the area to determine what led to the incident.

Most of the injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Salas did not provide immediate information on their conditions.
