TURNBERRY, Scotland (BN24) — A viral video circulating on social media appears to capture President Donald Trump receiving questionable assistance on the golf course, renewing long-standing accusations that he bends the rules while playing his favorite sport.

The footage, reportedly taken at Trump’s Turnberry resort in Scotland while the president was visiting Europe, shows Trump pulling up in a golf cart on the left side of a fairway, with a bunker and rough nearby. As he arrives, one of two caddies walking ahead discreetly drops a golf ball in a more favorable position.
Moments later, Trump steps out of the cart with a club and approaches the ball as though preparing for a shot. The video ends before he swings, but the brief clip has already made waves online, prompting fresh ridicule and accusations of cheating.
“Who needs a foot wedge when you have a personal ball dropper?” one user quipped on X, formerly Twitter. Others joined in, calling the 79-year-old president everything from a “scramble partner for Kim Jong Un” to “Commander-in-Cheat,” with some jokes coming from verified accounts, including one linked to a PGA professional.

The incident has stirred memories of previous allegations. Actor Samuel L. Jackson once claimed Trump cheated during a round they played together, telling an interviewer, “I don’t cheat. He does.” Trump later denied ever golfing with Jackson.
Comedian Anthony Anderson offered a similar account in 2016, claiming on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” that while Trump was a solid golfer, “his caddy cheats for him.” Anderson recounted an instance where both men hit poor shots, only to find Trump’s ball inexplicably sitting in pristine position in the middle of the fairway.
“He was with me on the tee box, but somehow his ball landed 20 yards ahead of mine, clean in the fairway,” Anderson said, laughing.

Sports journalist Rick Reilly also detailed Trump’s alleged golf habits in a 2019 column, saying Trump frequently took mulligans, claimed others’ shots as his own, and regularly had caddies reposition his ball. According to Reilly, Trump’s frequent ball-kicking earned him the nickname “Pele” among golf staffers.
“To say Donald Trump cheats is like saying Michael Phelps swims,” Reilly wrote. “Whether you’re his pharmacist or Tiger Woods, if you’re playing golf with him, he’s going to cheat.”
As the video continues to spread across social platforms, Trump has yet to publicly respond to the latest footage. But for critics and comedians alike, the viral clip offered fresh ammunition in a saga where sport, spectacle, and politics continue to collide.
