Woman Calls Police After Allegedly Cutting Off Boyfriend’s Penis

Officers discovered a “severed penis in the trash can” and a naked, unresponsive man inside a hotel room. He was pronounced dead at the scene before the suspect allegedly explained why she cut off his genitals.

A Colorado woman who allegedly admitted to cutting off her lover’s penis is now facing murder charges. According to an affidavit obtained by TooFab via the Grand Junction Police Department, 32-year-old Shenting Guo called authorities on May 14, stating she “believed her boyfriend was dead, but couldn’t provide a reason why.” Dispatch reported that she was “hysterical” as they attempted to give her CPR instructions.

Responding officers encountered a gruesome crime scene, noting “a bed with a large amount of blood smeared on it,” an “upset” woman, and “a naked male laying on his back with his feet under the bed” who was unresponsive.

As they attempted CPR on the victim, officers observed that “the male’s penis appeared to be cut off” and that he had “apparent trauma in his genitalia.” EMS also noted a “stab wound” on his leg, but could not determine if it was recent. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An officer who left the room to wash his hands was approached by Guo in the hotel laundry room. There, she allegedly began discussing the incident. According to police, the suspect told the officer to “arrest her now” and referred to the victim as her “boyfriend/fiancé/husband.”

She claimed the victim “wouldn’t let” her sleep and admitted to stabbing him in the leg that morning. Guo was placed in handcuffs and read her Miranda Rights. Despite requesting a lawyer, she continued to make voluntary statements, including that she “killed him and cut off his penis.”

Inside the hotel room, officers found a knife under the bed and the victim’s “severed penis in the trash can” of the bathroom.

After being transported to the police station, Guo waived her right to an attorney and spoke with another detective. During the interview, she claimed the victim “got her pregnant again” and they argued over whether the child was his.

She said she “stabbed him in the leg” out of anger because he questioned the paternity of the child. Guo insisted she “was not trying to kill him” and that he “didn’t appear to be in pain.”

She told police she then went to a drug store to buy water, rubbing alcohol, ibuprofen, and “greens,” but forgot to get bandages. At one point, she said, the victim’s “eyes went ‘dull,'” he was “cold and said he may die.” When asked why she allegedly cut off his penis, Guo stated she did it “to see if [the victim] would wake up” and even told him she was going to do it, but he did not respond.

Guo admitted to telling her father that the victim “drank himself to death” but told her mother she had stabbed him and cut off his genitals. She claimed to have used two different knives—one for stabbing and one for severing his penis.

Police revealed that Guo and the victim shared a 3-year-old child and had been “in an intimate relationship” for five years. She was charged with second-degree murder while in the heat of passion and domestic violence.

The report also included a statement from a hotel manager who heard shouting from their room early on May 14, including a man “yelling for help.” When she approached the door, she no longer heard yelling but heard the pair talking. The manager said a male voice asked for paper towels; she did not attempt to make further contact and eventually walked away.

Online records indicate that Guo is being held on a $1 million bond and will appear in court on May 22.
