The university later confirmed that a suspect had been detained and that there was no longer any threat to the campus. The shelter-in-place order was lifted around 4:45 p.m., but students were advised to avoid the South Campus Housing area due to ongoing police activity.
Kennesaw State University Police say that they are working in collaboration with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to thoroughly investigate the incident and gather all relevant details.
This marks the second time this year that Kennesaw State University has issued an emergency alert due to the presence of an armed intruder on campus. However, the festive atmosphere was shattered when two officials from the Arizona attorney general’s office served Giuliani with notice of his indictment, accusing him and others of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in Arizona. Despite the gravity of the situation, an attendee reported that “the mayor was completely unfazed and even laughed as he was handed the papers and drove away.”
