Netanyahu Vows Retaliation After Iran’s Missile Attack on Israel

Date:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Iran’s missile attack on Israel a failure and promised swift retaliation during a political-security meeting on Sunday.

“Iran made a big mistake tonight – and it will pay for it,” Netanyahu stated. “The regime in Iran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to retaliate against our enemies.”

Israel’s UN envoy echoed this sentiment, warning that Iran would soon face painful consequences for its actions.

The statements came in response to Iran’s missile attack on Israel, which Tehran described as a “defensive operation” targeting only military and security facilities. Iran’s foreign ministry called on the UN Security Council to take “meaningful action” to prevent threats to regional peace and security.

Iran’s armed forces issued a warning to Israel’s allies, stating they would target the “bases and interests” of any country directly intervening against Tehran. They further cautioned that any Israeli response would be met with “vast destruction” of Israeli infrastructure.
