The refinery processes about seven million metric tons of crude oil each year and is considered an important supplier to Russia’s military industrial sector.
Further east, authorities in Russia’s Udmurtia region said three civilians were killed and two others were injured during another drone strike. Acting regional head Olga Abramova said air defenses intercepted additional drones before they reached other targets.
In Russia’s Belgorod border region, local officials said three more people died and five others were wounded during separate Ukrainian attacks.
Meanwhile, officials in Bashkortostan said air defense units intercepted drones approaching industrial facilities in the regional capital of Ufa. A fire broke out after debris fell into an industrial area, though authorities reported no immediate casualties.
Russia also announced new military strikes inside Ukraine.
The Defense Ministry said Russian forces attacked military infrastructure in the southern port city of Mykolaiv and struck vessels carrying military cargo in the Black Sea.
