13-Year-Old Boy Among 3 Gang Rapists Arrested in Nigeria

0

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with separate child rape cases in Akko Local Government Area and Gombe metropolis. The suspects, a 13-year-old boy, 18-year-old Usman Husseini, and 45-year-old Mohammed Yaya, were paraded by the police on Friday.

According to ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the Police Public Relations Officer, the 13-year-old suspect allegedly dragged an eight-year-old girl to a secluded area and raped her on May 22, 2024. The incident was reported to the Akko Division on May 24, 2024.

In a separate case, Usman Husseini was arrested following a complaint from Musa Saleh of Hammadu-kafi quarters, Gombe, who reported that the suspect took his four-year-old daughter to a corner near his house and inserted his finger into her private part. The Pantami Division swiftly responded to the complaint, arresting the suspect and taking both the suspect and the victim to a specialist for medical examination.

The third suspect, Mohammed Yaya, from Tumu Akko Local Government Area, allegedly lured a 10-year-old girl into his house and raped her on two separate occasions, offering her N100 and N50 respectively. Yaya confessed to the crime during preliminary investigations.

ASP Abdullahi assured the public that the Gombe State Government is taking the issue of rape seriously, with the Department of Public Prosecutions working to tackle rape and other forms of abuse. He further stated that all three cases are currently under investigation and will be charged to court upon completion.

The arrests of these suspects highlight the ongoing efforts by the Gombe State Police Command to combat child sexual abuse and bring perpetrators to justice. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases of child abuse to the authorities.

Fans Blast Rick Ross’ Car & Bike Show, Demand Refunds Amid Chaos and Long Lines

Rick Ross’ annual Car & Bike Show in Fayetteville, Georgia, has come under fire from attendees who took to social media to express their frustrations with the event’s organization. Despite the rapper sharing photos that portrayed the show in a positive light, with smiles, hugs, and laughter alongside some of the biggest names in hip hop, fans are telling a different story.

Many attendees have slammed the event for various reasons, including a lack of shuttles, excessively long wait times to enter the venue, and claims that the organizers ran out of wristbands for admission. One TikTok user posted a video showing the entrance lines, which appeared to be a chaotic mess with little organization.

The dissatisfaction among some attendees has led to demands for refunds, with many claiming they have unsuccessfully tried to get their money back from event organizers. The experience has left many feeling frustrated and disappointed, with some taking to social media to voice their complaints directly on Rick Ross’ recent posts.

However, it’s important to note that not everyone who attended the event shares the same sentiment. Videos from inside the show, which was hosted on Rick Ross’ estate, depict a lively atmosphere with numerous vintage cars and impressive performances on the massive stage. This suggests that some attendees thoroughly enjoyed their experience despite the reported organizational issues.

Nonetheless, the online backlash from disgruntled fans is likely to overshadow the positive aspects of the event for many. As of now, Rick Ross’ team and the event organizers have not responded to requests for comment on the situation.

The controversy surrounding the Car & Bike Show serves as a reminder of the importance of proper event planning and management, especially when dealing with large crowds and high expectations from fans.

High-profile guests, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, attended the wedding of media mogul Rupert Murdoch to biologist Elena Zhukova, who is a friend of one of his ex-wives. Murdoch, whose fortune is estimated at around $20 billion, met Zhukova through his third wife, Wendi Deng.

The 92-year-old Murdoch and 62-year-old Zhukova held their wedding ceremony at the vineyard of his impressive Bel Air estate, Moraga. This marks Murdoch’s fifth marriage, following his six-year union with Jerry Hall, which lasted from 2016 to 2022.

Kraft arrived with his wife, Dana Blumberg, and they posed for an impromptu photo by the side of an access road after handing over their car to valets. Kraft wore a blue suit with a white shirt and matching Nike trainers, while Blumberg opted for a black dress that was partially sheer at the top, a matching handbag, and a glittering necklace.

News Corp chief executive Robert Thompson attended the wedding with his wife, Wang Ping, who made a statement in a yellow floral shirt over a green dress. Guests arrived in luxury cars, including brands such as Audi, Bentley, Jaguar, Lexus, and Chevy SUVs.

Photos show workers carrying cartloads and buckets of delicate white flowers up a flagstone path toward the estate. Leafy green flowers in brown paper bags were also delivered. Enhanced security was evident, with men in dark jackets patrolling the street in front of the Bel Air mansion, and a team member keeping watch from a balcony.

Murdoch and Zhukova opted for an intimate ceremony at the vineyard at Moraga, where Murdoch intends to spend his time and enjoy his retirement. After announcing his surprising decision to step down as chairman of Fox Corp. and News Corp., Murdoch will now focus on making world-class wines at his vineyard. “He wants Moraga to be a big part of his legacy,” a Murdoch insider told DailyMail.com.

Murdoch purchased the unique estate in August 2013 via his Moraga Canyon Vineyards LLC from former Northrop Grumman CEO Tom Jones after seeing it listed for sale in the mansions section of the Wall Street Journal. Los Angeles County property documents reveal the purchase price was $22.3 million, rather than the widely reported $28.8 million—an example of Murdoch’s ability to broker a good deal.

The 16-acre estate, hidden behind a 7ft ivy-clad stone wall and large wooden driveway fence, was first built in 1937 as a horse ranch by Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz director Victor Fleming. The property used to host Hollywood greats such as Clark Gable, Vivian Leigh, Ingrid Bergman, and Spencer Tracy for horse-riding and extravagant parties.

Murdoch married his second wife, Anna Maria Torv, in 1967, with whom he remained for 32 years before splitting up in 1999. Later that year, Murdoch married Deng, his third wife, before divorcing in 2013.

Robert Kraft arrived with his wife, Dana Blumberg.

Zhukova, Murdoch’s fifth wife, emigrated to the United States from Moscow. She was previously married to Alexander Zhukov, a billionaire energy investor. The couple sent out wedding invitations as early as March, which reportedly stated that the event would be held in June at Murdoch’s beloved Moraga.

Now retired, Murdoch and Zhukova plan to spend their time at the Bel Air estate, where Murdoch aims to develop an internationally competitive winery. Despite the business losing between $2-$3 million a year due to taxes and property prices, the wine already has a cult following, and Murdoch intends to capitalize on this.

As a self-professed oenophile, Murdoch’s goal is for “wine lovers everywhere to have the opportunity to understand the unique nuances of our specific soil at Moraga and how that translates into the amazing wines we create,” according to the Moraga website. “We are not Napa nor Bordeaux,” Murdoch explains. “We are Moraga and deserve a place at the table with the rest of the world’s top wines.”

PHOTOS-Kanye West’s Wife Bianca Censori Turns Heads in Barely-There Bodysuit During Italy Meeting

0

Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, 29, left little to the imagination as she joined her husband, 46, for a meeting in Prato, Italy on Saturday. The architectural designer stepped out of a vehicle wearing a skimpy white bodysuit that featured large cutouts on both sides, exposing her bare skin.

Censori’s daring outfit choice comes less than a year after the couple faced controversy for accusations of indecent exposure during a Venice boat ride. The Australian-born designer completed her look with nude-colored heels and a sleek updo, while carrying a notebook filled with various sketches.

West, who oversees the production of his Yeezy clothing brand in Prato, also donned an all-white ensemble consisting of loose-fitting trousers, a matching hoodie, and white shoes. The couple was greeted by an individual who led them inside the building.

Earlier in the week, Censori and West made headlines upon their arrival in Florence, with Censori sporting a white, thong bodysuit while clutching a pillow to her chest. This outfit seemed to channel a similar look she wore during their previous Italian trip in 2023, where her barely-there outfits sparked outrage among locals who deemed them “disrespectful” in a country known for its conservative Catholic heritage.

The couple’s return to Italy follows Censori’s solo getaway to her native Australia and comes amidst a battery investigation involving West and twins Mark and Jonnie Houston. The incident allegedly occurred at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, where West reportedly punched one of the twins after claims that Censori had been “physically and sexually” assaulted by one of them.

However, both West and the Houston twins have gone silent, leading law enforcement to speculate that they may have privately resolved the issue. The case remains open, but due to lack of evidence and cooperation from the involved parties, police are unable to send the case to the L.A. City Attorney’s office.

As Censori continues to turn heads with her daring fashion choices, the couple’s controversial past and current legal troubles remain in the spotlight.

Mother Defends Father Convicted of Murdering Their 13-Week-Old Son

0

In a shocking turn of events, Acieiona McEwan, the mother of 13-week-old Traveon Jr, defended Traveon Hughes Sr, 20, the man convicted of murdering their infant son by shoving a baby wipe down his throat. The incident, which occurred in June 2022, left the presiding judge stunned by McEwan’s remarks during Hughes’ sentencing.

Hughes, who pleaded his innocence throughout the trial, was found guilty of murder, involuntary manslaughter, and child endangerment. Prosecutors argued that he intentionally suffocated the baby to stop him from crying. However, McEwan took to the stand to condemn the court’s decision, warning that “God gets the last word” and reportedly blaming medical professionals for her son’s death.

The tragic event unfolded just two days after Hughes and McEwan, both 18 at the time, moved from Chicago to Cleveland. Hughes was at home with his brother, girlfriend, and the baby while McEwan was at work. During the trial, Hughes testified that his son accidentally choked on the wipe after he replaced a milk-stained bib with it and briefly left the room to tend to his own wounds from a previous shooting.

Hughes’ mother, Sandra Norwood, also defended her son, telling the court, “Ohio is going to get sick of me, because justice will prevail.” However, McEwan’s own family members criticized her stance. Her uncle, Martrelle Wilcox, expressed his desire for justice for his great-nephew, stating that Hughes “doesn’t deserve to see the light of day.” McEwan’s father, Acie, also admonished his daughter, telling her to “stop trying to take up for that man – he killed that baby.”

The case has sparked outrage and disbelief, with many questioning McEwan’s defense of the man convicted of murdering their helpless infant son. As Hughes faces the consequences of his actions, the family remains divided, and the memory of Traveon Jr’s short life serves as a tragic reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of protecting our most vulnerable.

Rep. Lauren Boebert Faces Scrutiny Over Theater Groping

0

Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado found herself at the center of a heated exchange during a televised debate hosted by 9News Denver’s Kyle Clark. The debate focused on Boebert’s recent controversial behavior at a theater in Denver, where she allegedly vaped, took photos, and disrespected theater staff.

Boebert, 37, who is currently campaigning for Colorado’s 4th district after moving from her current 3rd district position, attempted to address the issue head-on. However, her composure crumbled under the pressure of Clark’s questioning.

During the debate, Boebert claimed that she had apologized for her actions and was grateful for the mercy and grace shown to her. However, when Clark pressed her on the specifics of her apology, asking if she had apologized for vaping or for the disrespect shown to service workers, Boebert insisted that things had been taken out of context.

Despite video evidence of Boebert’s interactions with theater staff, including her flipping someone off and baring her teeth angrily, the lawmaker maintained that she had not shown disrespect. She attempted to shift the focus onto Clark, suggesting that the video footage should never have been released and that it was a private moment.

Clark countered by emphasizing the importance of determining whether Boebert was telling the truth or if a public agency was lying about her conduct. Boebert, visibly flustered, accused Clark of hypocrisy, citing a recent interview where he had spoken out against recording someone without their knowledge.

This theater incident is just one of several distracting events that have plagued Boebert’s political career. In February, her son, Tyler, 18, was arrested on 22 various charges, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Despite this, Boebert’s social media accounts continued to criticize President Joe Biden’s family as “the most corrupt family in American history.”

Former President Donald Trump recently endorsed Boebert, calling her a “Proven Conservative” and a “trusted America First Fighter.” However, the congresswoman’s controversial behavior and personal life continue to draw scrutiny and raise questions about her ability to effectively represent her constituents.

Real Madrid Clinch 15th European Cup with Late Goals

0

Real Madrid extended their record as kings of Europe by winning their 15th European Cup with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday.

Despite being the favorites, the Spanish giants were outplayed for significant portions of the match but managed to break Dortmund’s resistance with late goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr.

Veteran right-back Carvajal opened the scoring with a glancing header from a Toni Kroos corner in the 74th minute. This goal invigorated Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who had been struggling to assert their dominance.

Vinicius Jr. sealed the victory in the 83rd minute with a well-placed shot, silencing the vociferous Dortmund fans who had created a formidable atmosphere throughout the match.

The result was harsh on the German side, who missed several key first-half chances, including a close-range shot from Niclas Fuellkrug that hit the post.

Chad Daybell Sentenced to Death for Brutal Triple Murder of His First Wife and Two Young Stepchildren

0

Chad Daybell, the self-proclaimed “Doomsday prophet,” was given the death penalty for killing his ex-wife and co-conspirator Lori Vallow’s two children in a chilling triple murder case that rattled the state of Idaho. Daybell, 55, remained stone-faced as the sentence was handed down on Saturday, with the Idaho jury unanimously agreeing on imposing the death penalty.

After a nearly two-month trial, Daybell was found guilty on Thursday of killing Tammy Daybell, Joshua ‘JJ’ Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16. He declined to make a statement after becoming the ninth person on Idaho’s death row.

Before the jury began deliberating on sentencing, family members gave impact statements to the court, reported 12News. Colby Ryan, Tylee and JJ’s brother and Lori’s only living child, said, “It’s not an overstatement to say that I lost everything, but more importantly we all lost Tylee and JJ. I stand here today motherless, fatherless, sisterless and brotherless.”

Tylee Ryan’s aunt, Annie Cushing, described her as “intelligent, clever, funny, sarcastic and had the voice of an angel.”

During the summer of 2020, the remains of the children were discovered on Daybell’s Fremont County, Idaho property. Police believe the bodies were buried by Daybell sometime between September of 2019 and June of 2020. Tammy Daybell died in 2019, mere weeks ahead of Chad and Lori Vallow’s wedding. Though her death was initially believed to be due to natural causes, her corpse was later exhumed and, following an autopsy, it was determined that she had been suffocated to death.

Daybell and Lori Vallow were indicted in 2021 on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and grand theft by deception in the children’s deaths. The pair were slapped with a handful of additional charges relating to Tammy’s death. Last year, Vallow was convicted and handed a sentence of multiple life sentences behind bars without the possibility of parole.

During his trial, Daybell was accused of crafting an alternate reality so that he could fulfill “his desire for sex, money and power.” Prosecutor Rob Wood said, “When he had a chance at what he considered his rightful destiny, he made sure no person and no law would stand in his way.”

Prosecutors, who called 67 witnesses throughout the trial, said the couple justified the three killings by creating a detailed and apocalyptic belief system, part of an elaborate scheme to eliminate any obstacles to their relationship and to obtain money from survivor benefits and life insurance.

Daybell’s defense attorney John Prior presented a different picture to jurors, noting that Chad Daybell was a religious person but suggested that his belief in things like premonitions were fairly mainstream. Prior also explained to jurors that Lori Vallow Daybell’s brother, Alex Cox, had a violent history, having previously been convicted of attacking Vallow Daybell’s third husband and shooting and killing her fourth husband.

Daybell’s attorney argued that his client lived a normal, faith-focused life before he met Lori Vallow Daybell, who he said showered Daybell with attention. His legal team described her as a “beautiful, vivacious person” who drew Daybell into an extramarital relationship. They also said he would present several experts in DNA, forensics and pathology who would testify that it’s impossible to determine what caused Tammy Daybell’s death and that none of Chad Daybell’s DNA was found with the children’s bodies.

ANC Party Loses 30-Year Majority in Landmark South African Election

0

In a historic election result, the African National Congress (ANC) party lost its parliamentary majority for the first time since the end of apartheid 30 years ago. This significant shift in South Africa’s political landscape was confirmed on Saturday, signaling a new direction for the nation.

With over 99% of votes counted from Wednesday’s election, the ANC received just over 40% of the vote, falling short of the majority it has held since the pivotal 1994 all-race vote that ended apartheid and brought Nelson Mandela to power. While the final results are pending formal declaration by the independent electoral commission, it is clear the ANC will not surpass the 50% threshold.

The electoral commission had initially stated it would formally declare the results by Sunday, though this may happen sooner.

Opposition parties have hailed the outcome as a groundbreaking development for a country grappling with severe poverty and inequality. Despite its diminished majority, the ANC remains the largest party and will likely need to form a coalition to retain governance and reelect President Cyril Ramaphosa for a second term. The South African president is elected by Parliament following national elections.

“The way to rescue South Africa is to break the ANC’s majority and we have done that,” said John Steenhuisen, the leader of the main opposition Democratic Alliance (DA).

The path forward is complex for Africa’s most advanced economy, as no coalition has yet been solidified. The DA secured around 21% of the vote, while the newly formed MK Party of former President Jacob Zuma, who has since turned against the ANC, garnered just over 14%. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) trailed with slightly more than 9%.

More than 50 parties participated in the election, many receiving minimal vote shares. The DA and MK Party are the most viable coalition partners for the ANC, considering the significant gap from a majority. The urgency to form a coalition is heightened as Parliament must convene and elect a president within 14 days of the official declaration of final results, prompting a flurry of likely intricate negotiations.

Steenhuisen expressed the DA’s openness to coalition talks. However, the MK Party stipulated that any agreement would require the removal of Ramaphosa as ANC leader and president, highlighting the intense political rivalry between Zuma, who resigned amid corruption allegations in 2018, and Ramaphosa, his successor.

“We are willing to negotiate with the ANC, but not the ANC of Cyril Ramaphosa,” said Nhlamulo Ndlela, MK Party spokesperson.

Both the MK Party and the far-left EFF advocate for nationalizing parts of the economy. The DA is perceived as a business-friendly party, and analysts suggest an ANC-DA coalition would be more favorable to foreign investors, although its political feasibility is uncertain given the DA’s longstanding criticism of the ANC.

An ANC-DA coalition “would be a marriage of two drunk people in Las Vegas. It will never work,” stated Gayton McKenzie, leader of the smaller Patriotic Alliance party, to South African media.

Despite the uncertainty, opposition parties celebrated the new political scenario as a vital change for South Africa, a nation of 62 million that, while being Africa’s most developed, is also one of the most unequal.

South Africa suffers from pervasive poverty and extremely high unemployment rates, with the ANC struggling to improve living standards for millions. The official unemployment rate stands at 32%, one of the highest globally, with poverty disproportionately affecting Black people, who comprise 80% of the population and have traditionally supported the ANC.

The ANC has faced criticism and voter backlash for failing to provide basic government services, leaving many without essential amenities like water, electricity, or proper housing.

Nearly 28 million South Africans were registered to vote, with turnout expected to be around 60%, according to the independent electoral commission.

Marian Robinson, Mother of Michelle Obama, Dies at 86

0

Marian Robinson, the mother of former First Lady Michelle Obama, has passed away at the age of 86, according to a family statement shared with NBC News.

“She passed peacefully this morning, and right now, none of us are quite sure how exactly we’ll move on without her,” the statement said. The family statement comes from Michelle and Barack Obama; Craig Robinson and his wife, Kelly; and Marian Robinson’s grandchildren, Avery, Leslie, Malia, Sasha, Austin, and Aaron.

Marian Robinson, the mother of former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Robinson became known as the nation’s first grandmother after her son-in-law, Barack Obama, won the 2008 presidential election. She was a consistent presence in the White House during his eight-year tenure, maintaining a low profile while attending holiday events, overseas trips, and concerts in the East Room. Most importantly, she spent a significant amount of time with her granddaughters, Sasha and Malia.

Having lived in Chicago her entire life, Robinson agreed to move to Washington, D.C., in 2009 to reside in the White House and help care for her granddaughters, who were seven and ten years old at the time. In a CBS interview, she later explained, “I felt like this was going to be a very hard life for both of them. And I was worried about their safety, and I was worried about my grandkids. That’s what got me to move to D.C.”

Marian Robinson, the mother of former First Lady Michelle Obama and family.

In their statement, Robinson’s family noted she agreed to leave Chicago with “a healthy nudge.” They said, “We needed her. The girls needed her. And she ended up being our rock through it all.” The statement highlighted her joy in being a grandmother, adding, “Although she enforced whatever household rules we’d set for bedtime, watching TV, or eating candy, she made clear that she sided with her ‘grandbabies’ in thinking that their parents were too darn strict.”

Robinson was born in Chicago in 1937 and grew up on the city’s South Side, where she raised her daughter and son, Craig Robinson. She was married to Fraser Robinson, who passed away in 1991 from multiple sclerosis.

Former President Barack Obama once described his mother-in-law as “the least pretentious person I know.” Indeed, Robinson admitted in the CBS interview that it was a “huge adjustment” being waited on by White House residence staff, whom she eventually convinced to let her do her own laundry. The family statement shared fond memories of her simple pleasures, saying, “Rather than hobnobbing with Oscar winners or Nobel laureates, she preferred spending her time upstairs with a TV tray, in the room outside her bedroom with big windows that looked out at the Washington Monument. The only guest she made a point of asking to meet was the Pope.”

Barack Obama credited Robinson with keeping his daughters grounded during their time in the White House. “She’s down to Earth and she doesn’t understand all the fuss,” he said in an interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

Michelle, her mom, and one of her daughters.

Michelle Obama was deeply close to her mother. Robinson narrated the biographical video introducing her daughter at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. After leaving the White House, Robinson humorously remarked, “My saying is when I grow up, I would like to be like Michelle Obama.”

Recently, Michelle Obama honored her mother on Mother’s Day by announcing that an exhibit at the Obama Presidential Center Museum in Chicago would be named after her. “In so many ways, she fostered in me a deep sense of confidence in who I was and who I could be by teaching me how to think for myself, how to use my own voice, and how to understand my own worth,” Michelle Obama said in a video announcement. “I simply wouldn’t be who I am today without my mom.”

The family’s statement concluded with a heartfelt tribute: “There was and will be only one Marian Robinson. In our sadness, we are lifted up by the extraordinary gift of her life. And we will spend the rest of our lives trying to live up to her example.”
